Eidsvoll is a multimedia installation that manifests as numerous portraits — of a house, of family members, of self— and operates as an at times playful, at times melancholy exploration of materiality and recollection in a cultural moment of planned obsolescence and digitally-mediated experience and memory.

All components of the installation work were shot on location at Eidsvoll. Eidsvoll is a personage in its own right: in the lives of multiple generations of my family, in family lore, and as a character in these works of film and photography. All components of the installation engage with recurrent themes of longing, nostalgia, a conflagration of memory, time, and space; they are based in oral histories, reimagined, enacted, and extended.

This project is simultaneously an act of preservation and a poetic meditation on memory and time, challenging the linearity of narrative and experience.
